Parents and Students,
At the start of every school year I ask my students to write me a letter and tell me about themselves, what some of their goals are and what they expect from me over the course of the year. Here is where you get to read my response to those questions. This will be my second year teaching at Curiale and my fifth year teaching overall. Previously I taught at an alternative high school in Danbury, CT. I double majored in History and Secondary Education at Central Connecticut State University and completed my Masters Degree in Special Education at Western Connecticut State University. I also coach basketball at Abbott Tech in Danbury. I grew up in Newtown, CT and I am the oldest of four children, I am also recently married.
I have many short and long term goals for this school year. My main goal, as well as the goal of all the other teachers is to prepare you to be successful when you get to high school. The pace and workload is going to continue to grow as we go further on in the school year. My expectations for the class are very high. I set the bar high to prepare you for where you will be in a few short months...High School! This year will not be easy but it will be worth it and I will do my best to make it fun along the way. As long as you are working hard and being respectful to each other this will be a great year!
Thanks for reading,
Mr. Kelley
